BYD ATTO 3 Charging Guide

Need help with charging your BYD ATTO 3?

To help you get the most out of your BYD ATTO 3 and answer some questions you may have, we’ve created this charging guide for you!

BYD ATTO 3 battery size

The BYD ATTO 3 has a BYD Blade Battery (LFP) with a capacity of 60.4 kWh.

What are the charging times on the BYD ATTO 3?

When using an AC (7kW 1-phase) charger, it’ll take 9 hours and 42 minutes to get your BYD ATTO 3 from 0-100% charge. But if using an 11kW 3-phase AC charger, you’ll shave off around three hours with the ability to get from nought to a hundred in 6 hours and 30 minutes.

A DC charger will charge your car a lot quicker.

And most of the time, you’re probably going to be topping up your charge, rather than charging a flat battery all the way to 100. So to get from 30-80% of charge, it’ll take 29 minutes when using a 150kW DC charger. Or to put this into perspective, 80 minutes if you’re charging from 0-100%.

BYD - charging to 100?

A lot of manufacturers will recommend to generally keep your EV charged between 20-80%.

That first and last 20% to top up to 100% takes quite a long time and takes more energy out of your battery.

However, BYD’s LFP battery is a bit different so you can charge all the way up to 100 with no problems.

We also recommend that you fully charge from a low battery once every three to six months.

Its charging port is located on the driver’s front side.

The BYD ATTO 3 is fitted with a type 2 charging port.

What charging cable do I need for the BYD ATTO 3?

If you don’t know, the VtoL feature essentially turns your BYD ATTO 3 into a mobile power bank, so you could go camping for the weekend and power your kettle and cooking appliances to make food for example.
